Walmart Expands Free Two-Day Shipping For Millions Of Products

Walmart will offer free two-day shipping for millions of additional items, including products from third-party sellers, starting in November. Additionally, the retail giant will start accepting e-Commerce returns at its stores for some third-party sales items.

The store-based return policy is designed to simplify the return process for customers. Shoppers can log into their Walmart accounts to print return labels for third-party sellers, and eligible items can be returned to any Walmart location, at which point the retailer will handle the rest of the return shipping process.

Walmart also has been preparing for the holidays by expanding its collection of toys by 30% in-store and 40% online. Additionally, the retailer has released a list of the season’s 40 hottest toys, as chosen by kids, to ease parents’ decision-making.

The expansion of two-day shipping will put Walmart’s delivery standard slightly ahead of customer demands for the holiday season: 63% of online shoppers expect three-day shipping to be standard, according to a study by Kibo. The retailer’s rollout of buy online, pickup in-store (BOPIS) options also is likely to be popular: 66% of shoppers have chosen this option in the past six months.
